Harmon Field

Gentlemen,

I was hoping to get a small event going for Sunday 14 March. This fell through. However, we have wrangled an invitation from the 2nd NCMI (The Yank Cavalry) to attend the Skirmish at Harmon Field on Sunday 22 March. This is located in Tryon (I’ll get directions). Its one day, a light carry-just your muskets, traps, & ammo. We could meet at the field 9am- do breakfast, a little light drill in the morning, burn some powder that afternoon, have dinner & hit the barracks.
Smitty said to bring both coats, but he would try to let us fight as Confederates.
As we did not get in a spring drill day, this would be the perfect opportunity to get the cobwebs out before Anderson. Plus, we have some new guys, I’d like them to “See the elephant” in a small controlled skirmish. I’ll be there- let me know who else is coming.

Regards,
Duke

  2. Duke,
Check you calendar. You keep writing Sunday but are listing the dates for SATURDAY. Which is it?

  4. Let me check with one of my lay leaders and I might be able to attend. We have the grands the weekend of Anderson (shucks) and they are both too young to bring to the battle (3 and 5 y/o).
I'll let you know probably on Monday if I can attend.

  5. GOOD NEWS. One of my lay speakers will conduct the worship service on Sunday, 22 March. This means I can join y'all - provided the weather holds out, the creeks don't rise, and I get directions. :-)
