2013 Uniform Guidelines

A quick general outline.

 I will be placing a Paki order in early February. I expect ALL Marines to order a pair of the period correct white cotton canvas pants.

Uniform Standards- CFA/ Federal/Confederate Marines 2013

Coats- Frock- Federal Blue for US/ Medium Grey for CS

 Frocks were less common, but are correct for any army at any time period in any theater.

If you currently have Federal Sacks in Federal Blue or Confederate Shells (Richmond- or Columbus Depot) in Grey wool (No Jeancloth) They are acceptable. Peter Tate Jackets are also acceptable. But, as they wear out/don’t fit- they should be replaced with a Frock.

 Vests- Optional. May be military or civilian. Must be period cut & Fabric. Officers are expected to have a vest (Hint- Federal blue can be worn with either uniform…)

Shirts- any period shirt made of period type material is acceptable.

Pants- Summer- White Cotton for Marine impression May have red stripe down side if member desires. Federal blue wool for winter Marine impression… Both Confederate & Federal. Grey/ Brown are acceptable for Confederate Marine Impression.

 Federal blue wool (Federal) or Grey wool/brown (Confederate) for any event where we are not Marines.

Hats- Members choice- any period correct headgear. Engineer hats/Wheel Hats encouraged. No Indiana Jones Fedoras or Tophats…

Footware- Brogans or footgear that can pass the “10 foot” brogan test (You can have rubber soles…). NCO’s/Officers can have boots. No obvious modern footware.

Leathers- period black, brown or white. Haversacks- Period “Tarred”, No “Batman” utility belts. Period Canteens (2 per man)
